Siffoe United male, female teams through to Kabuka Manjaku tournament final

Siffoe United male and female teams had over the weekend booked their places into the Kabuka Manjaku tournament final after defeating Amdallai United and Kunkujang Mariama respectively during their semi-final encounters played at the Busura Vallage, Kombo Central in the West Coast Region.

Samuel Mendy opened the scoring for Siffoe United in the early 4th minute of the game after capitalizing on the counter attack to tap the ball inside the net.

Amdallai levelled the game by equalizing through a Louis Bass goal in the 24th minute. This equalizer awakened Siffie United as they restored their lead back through Samba Mendy in the 30th minute before going for the break.

Siffoe United continued the second period from where they left in the first half, as they extended their lead in the second period through Demba Mendy’s converted set-piece (free-kick) 56th minute of the game.

Samba Mendy makes it a comfortable victory for Siffoe United after scoring his double in the 60 minutes, ending the score-line 4-1 in favor of Siffoe United.

Meanwhile, shortly after the final whistle, the head coach of the defending champion, Siffoe United, expressed happiness for booking their place into the final, while expressing hope of defending their crown.

Elsewhere, Siffoe United female side also booked their place into the final of the Kabuka Manjaku female category final after eliminating Kunkujang Mariama by 3-0 in the semi-final played on the same day.

This was believed to be one of the finest encounters in the female tournament of the Kabuka Manjaku competition.

The defending champions opened their scoring through Vivian Mendy’s strike in the 40 minute of the first half.

This result ending 3-0 sent Siffoe United female side into the final of the tournament.
