Elite United has recorded their fourth victory of the season, while Real de Banjul suffered another defeat during the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League week-20 fixtures played over the weekend.
The Academy boys, Elite United recorded their fourth win of the season after defeating Gamtel FC 1-0 during their week-20 league game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum on Friday.
Elite United scored the only goal in the game during the first period, leaving the Telecom Giants searching for an equalizer which later proved futile.
Gamtel FC now suffered their seventh defeat of the season.
The win maintained Elite United at the relegation zone (16th) position with 18 points, while Gamtel FC sit 4th position with 27 points after 20 games.
Fortune FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Banjul United during their game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.
The Banjul-based team opened the scores through Momodou Jatta in the 37th minute of the first half, before Fortune FC leveled the scores through an own-goal in the 69th minute of the second half.
The result made it seventh draw for Banjul United, while the defending champions Fortune FC recorded their fourth draw of the league.
The draw occupied Fortune FC at 9th position with 25 points after 20 games while Banjul United sit 12th position with 22 points after 19 encounters.
Meanwhile, Steve Biko was leading Falcons 1-0 during their week-20 fixtures played at the Stadium on Friday.
The match was halted after 86th minute of the second half due to the power failure at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.
Adama Bojang scored the only goal in the game for Steve Biko in the 84 minute.
For the meantime, Steve Biko is sitting in 5th position with 27 points, while Falcons occupy 10th position with 24 points.
Elsewhere, Waa Banjul beat Real de Banjul 1-0 during their week-20 fixture played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori on Saturday.
Omar Sonko scored the only goal for Waa Banjul in the 32nd minute of the first half, leaving Real de Banjul searching for an equalizer at their home in Basori.
The Young Waa Banjul side now collected their fifth victory of the season, while Real de Banjul suffered their fourth defeat of the league.
The victory moved Waa Banjul to 6th position with 26 points, while defeat maintained their 1st position at the time of writing with 36 points after 20 matches.
The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) defeated Samger 1-0 during a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum on Saturday.
The Ferry Boys GPA now registered their sixth win of the league, while the Cherno Samba Academy suffered their ninth loss of the season.
The victory moved the GPA side to 7th position with 25 points, while the defeat dropped Samger FC to 13th position with 21 points after 20 matches.
At the time of going to press yesterday, on Sunday, Marimoo FC were playing against GAF at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.
On Monday, today, Hawks will take on Brikama United on top of the table clash to be played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, before Wallidan entertaining Team Rhino in the late encounter
