Ablie Jallow delighted to score once again for The Gambia

Scorpion’s attacker Ablie Jallow has expressed delight for scoring The Gambia’s only goal during their opening Afcon qualifiers match against South Sudan played in Thies, Senegal on Saturday.

Ablie Jallow who goes by his moniker ‘Germano’ scored the Gambia’s only goal during its match against the Bright Stars of South Sudan at the stroke of half time after a beautiful assist from Bologna’s Musa Barrow.

Jallow who plays for the Belgian First Division side, FC Seraing also scored the only goal during the Scorpions opening win in the Afcon tournament against Mauritania.

“I am so happy to score again for my country. I always want to score each time I am playing for my country,” said Ablie Jallow during an interview.

The 23-year-old winger added that as a forward player, they always aim to score goals whenever they’re playing, adding that he is so happy to score once again for his country.

“I am a forward player and it is always good if I can score a goal. Because it is so important to score goals when playing.”

The Bundung-born player also expressed hope of qualifying for a successive Africa Cup of Nations tournament, adding that playing in the maiden Afcon tournament was so good.

“We would do all we can to qualify the country for the Afcon tournament again. Because we already experienced the tournament and we want to be there again.”
