Miami FC over the weekend crowned champions of the 2021/22 Kunkujang Sports Development committee league championship sponsored by General Growth Real Estate, played at the village’s community football field on Sunday.
Miami FC won the Kunkujang league tournament after defeating Darusallam FC 1-0 during a final played at the Kunkujang field.
Mattar Manga scored the game’s only goal for Miami FC in the 47th minute of the game.
As winners, Miami FC were awarded a giant trophy and a cash price of D15,000 while, the runners up, Darusallam FC were given a consolation prize of D10, 000
Speaking to The Voice Sports shortly after the final whistle, Ebrima F. Jammeh, head coach of Miami FC, said he was happy for winning the Kunkujang tournament trophy, noting that they deserved to win the competition as they were intensively training prior to the final game of the tournament.”
For his part, Kara Ansumana Gassama, head coach of Darusallam expressed satisfaction for the extreme performance shown by his team, while blaming the referee’s bad officiating for losing the final
