The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), Wallidan joined Banjul United and Brikama United to progress into the next round of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) FF Cup after their respective wins in the round of 32 fixtures played on Tuesday.
The Gambia Armed Forces defeated Wagadu 2-1 during a game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium on Tuesday.
The Soldiers, GAF who seems to have found redeem in the league, continued that spirit in the FF Cup after eliminating Wagadu, while the Second Division League side, Wagadu continued their struggle in their debut season.
GAF who progressed into the next stage of the FF Cup tournament, currently sit 8th position with 26 points in the GFF topflight, while the URR-based team, Wagadu who are occupying 16th position with 22 points in 2nd division league, are now out of the FF Cup competition .
Wallidan defeated B4U Kiang West 4-2 in a post-match penalty shootout following a goalless draw in the regulation time during a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The Blue Boys, Wallidan FC who seems to lose morale in the GFF topflight league now book their place in the next round of the FF Cup, while the second tier league side B4U Kiang West are eliminated out from the tournament.
Wallidan FC currently occupied 10th position in the GFF 1st division league with 26 points, while the Kiangkers side, B4U sit 7th position with 35 points in the GFF 2nd division league.
Banjul United also booked their place in the next stage of the FF Cup after beating Young Africans 6-5 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the regulation during a Banjul-derby encounter played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Banjul United who is occupying 9th position in the first division league with 26 points, now advanced to the next stage of the FF Cup tournament, while second division league side, Young African who sit 15th position with 25 points in the 2 division league are now eliminated out of the FF Cup tournament.
Brikama United beat Samger FC 1-0 during the FF Cup round of 32 game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.
The Sateba Boys, who are having a fantastic season have now awarded themselves a place into the next stage of the FF Cup tournament, while the Cherno Samba Academy Boys, Samger FC who are having an inconsistency form in their return back to the topflight league are out of the FF Cup tournament.
Brikama United are sitting in 2nd position in the GFF First Division League with 37points, while Samger FC occupied second from bottom (15th) position with 21 points.
Meanwhile, today, on Thursday, there are going to be another four games in the round of 32 fixtures:
Jarra West will be taking on Team Rhino at the Soma Mini Stadium; Marimoo will be battling it out with Gunjur United at the Independence Stadium, before Steve Biko entertaining Fortune at the Stadium at 6pm and Immigration will play Falcons at the Late Ousman Saho Field.
