Gamtel FC and Elite United have both recorded a win during their Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League week-23 fixtures played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Tuesday.
The Telecommunication boys, Gamtel FC defeated Team Rhino 2-0 during the earlier game played at the Stadium.
Dawda Sissoho and Alpha Jatta scored for Gamtel FC in the 42nd and 63rd minutes respectively.
The Telecom Giants, now recorded their eighth win of the league, while the Wellingara-based team Team Rhino suffered their seventh loss of the league.
Gamtel FC under the guidance of Coach Ebou Jarra overall collected 8 wins, 6 draws and 8 defeats after 22 matches, while Team Rhino under the leadership of Yunusa Badjie overall recorded 4 victories, 11 draws and 7 defeats after 22 games.
The victory moved Gamtel FC to 4th position with 30 points, leveling with Marimoo and Steve Biko, while the defeat dropped Team Rhino back into the relegation zone (15th) position with 23 points.
Elsewhere, struggling side Elite United beat Falcons 3-1 during the late encounter played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Tuesday.
Elite United under the guidance of Yaya Manneh recorded their fifth win of the league, while Falcons FC under the leadership of Lamin Jarju suffered their eighth defeat of the league.
Elite United overall 5 wins, 6 draws and 11 defeats after 22 games, while Falcons FC overall registered 6 wins, 7 draws and 8 defeats after 22 matches.
The triumph maintained Elite United at the rock bottom of the league at 16th position with 21 points, while the defeat dropped Falcons FC to 12th position with 25 points.
At the time of going to press yesterday, on Wednesday, The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) were playing against Real de Banjul during the earlier game at the independence Stadium in Bakau, before Waa Banjul entertaining Hawks during the late encounter at the Stadium.
