Zizo Art Studio has honoured African women in a visualized exhibition ceremony, the forum was held under the banner ‘Musoor’ at Senegambia.
The exhibition portrayed the work and advocated for women rights and it also displayed advocacy words on the portrait such as “Stop violence against women, no to Gender Based Violence, no to rape, love should not hurt among other advocacy statements.
Speaking during the ceremony, Zoker Zoker, proprietor of Zizo Art Studio said: “the art work would talk about the African women in abstract form. I am delighted for putting something valuable in the mind of people using visual arts.”
He commended the participants for attending what he called a remarkable event in his career in the art industry and life in general.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership of National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC) for honoring his invitation as well as supporting him in his struggle to transform the art industry.
“The future of the art industry is clear and bright in this country,” he assured.
Representing Minister of Tourism and Culture, Hassoum Ceesay, director general of NCAC commended Mr Zoker for venturing into the creative art industry, saying it will play a crucial role in the development of the tourism industry and the Gambia as whole.
“I urged you to keep up the momentum to ensure sustainable development in the creative art industry,” he said.
He, however, assured that the Gambia government through the Ministry of Tourism and Culture will support people who venture in the art creative industry.
Milton Kamanda, an actor called on all and sundry to support the young artist so that they can continue to contribute to national development through the art industry.
He urged youths working in the art industry to take their various professions seriously. This sector, he said, would play a pivotal role in nation development.
