Bun Sanneh, Captain of The Gambia CHAN Team hailed the importance of the friendly match against the Gambia foreign-based players (professionals).
He said that the friendly game was very important as it helped them to get some experience ahead of their CHAN qualifiers against Guinea Bissau next month.
The Gambia CHAN Team skipper was speaking in an interview with reporters shortly after the final wrestle of the goalless draw between The Gambia CHAN Team and The Gambia foreign-based players (professionals) played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Monday.
The game which ended goalless stalemate was graced by hundreds of spectators together with electrifying support from the two fans clubs- the National Scorpions Fans Club and the Smiling Coast Fans Club.
The friendly match was also meant to raise funds and assist the two fans clubs in the Gambia and also help Coach Alagie Sarr and his team prepare for the CHAN qualifiers next month.
The 23-year-old Brikama United playmaker also hailed his teammates for their wonderful performance against their senior team.
“We have a great team and we played well with a great atmosphere. It is great that we have another test game with our senior team to have some experience from them. We learnt a lot to prepare ourselves for our upcoming qualifiers next month.”
