Three Gambian police officers are participating in an international training on Quality Management and Forensic Science in Dakar, Senegal through the support of the German Police Force, GIZ.
The deputy police spokesman Inspector Alieu Jamanka leads the delegation at the Ecole National De Police on Burgie Baa Avenue in downtown Dakar.
According to the police, Inspector Alieu Jamanka expressed delight and sincere appreciation to the organizers (GIZ) and the Senegalese Scientific Police for the opportunity and hospitality, accorded them. Inspector Jamanka told the gathering in Dakar that the training will go a long way in adding value to their work back in The Gambia.
He assured them that he and his team will take full advantage of the opportunity and replicate the knowledge gained in the execution of their duties back home.
“Finally, my most since appreciation, on behalf of my team, to the High Command in the Gambia, under the dynamic leadership of IGP Abdoulie Sanyang for giving us this wonderful lifetime opportunity to attend such an important training”.
Other speakers include the Head of the Senegalese Scientific Police and Mr Kevin Keshwer, a renowned Quality Management and Forensic Expert from the UK.
Meanwhile, students of the University of Bradford UK, led by Dr David Harris paid a courtesy call to the Office of The Inspector General of Police at the GPF Headquarters in Banjul, as part of the ongoing study tour by the University of Bradford within Africa.
Receiving the tour delegation on behalf of the IGP, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Momodou Sowe, welcomed the delegation to the Police Headquarters. He strongly assured of the GPF’s close collaboration and partnership with Bradford University at all times.
Part of the objectives of the interface includes availing the students’ opportunity to discuss issues related to security, gender, transnational organized crimes, SSR and a range of other issues concerning security.
