Omar Jobe, assistant coach of Wallidan FC stated that their main target right now is to win the FF Cup tournament.
Coach Omar Jobe said this during an interview with journalists shortly after his side Wallidan FC beat Banjul United 2-0 during their FF Cup round of 16 game played at the Independence Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The result now moved Wallidan FC into the next round of the competition while the defeat eliminated Banjul United from the tournament.
“Our main target right now is to win the FA Cup and we will do everything possible to make sure we go home with that trophy this season,” said Omar Jobe of Wallidan FC.
He added that they are giving a big shot to winning the FF Cup competition right, as their only chance this season after having a slim chance to win the league.
“We are very happy for the win and also the performance of the players after registering three wins in three games.”
According to him, winning the FA Cup could be for Wallidan this season, even though it is not going to be easy.
“We are going to work harder and focus to winning the FA Cup”
For his part, Sheikh Adama Joof, head coach of Banjul United expressed disappointment for the final result, while blaming the central referee’s bad officiating for their loss.
The Blue Boys, Wallidan who recently found their redeem in the first division league now moved to the next round of the tournament, while this elimination continues Banjul United inconsistency in the season.
Wallidan FC currently occupied 5th position with 33 points, while Banjul United sit 10th position with 31 points.
