Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Donates Food items worth over D250, 000 to fire victims

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Al-Jama’at in collaboration with the Disaster Management Committee recently donated food items worth over D250, 000 to the victims of fire outbreaks that occurred from January to June, this year. The food items include cooking oil, bags of rice, and clothes.

 

Speaking during the presentation at the Kanifing Municipal Council headquarters, Amir Baba Trawally of Ahmadiyya Jama’at expressed grieves to the fire victims. He said they have about 45 fire victims and their families have experienced the painful incident. With a breathtaking no-death case during the incidents. While he confirmed that Islam is meant to assist the needy and victims like them.

 

 “Islam is all about peace, we cannot have peace in the society when the poor are not assisted,” he divulged while he further called on everyone to embrace each other for self-development. 

 

Musa Mendy, representative of the Disaster Management Committee expressed joy on receiving the gesture from their partners, that it was not new to them, because the Jama’at has been serving the needy people since the establishment of the disaster committee of KMC. He added that they were the institution that has been supportive whenever the need arises, and he looks forward to the continuous collaboration.

 

 Karamo Ceesay, Councilor for Tallinding South thanked the Jama’at, revealing the frequent experience of fire outbreaks in their communities, that one of them was recent.
