Deaths of two pupils lead driver to court

Ebrima Kebbeh, a Gambian driver was on Monday 4th July arraigned before Magistrate Peter Adoh Che of the Brikama Magistrate Court for causing the death of two pupils along the Trans-Gambia Highway.

Ebrima Kebbeh, the accused driver with the Gambian registered plate number KM 5930 D was alleged of reckless driving along the highway at Bajana in Foni, West Coast Region, which took the lives of Musa Jallow and Dodou Kandeh on the 12th May 2022, between the hours of 7:00 am to 7:30 am.

Testifying before the court, Sgt Abubacarr Jallow, explained that the accused driver, Ebrima Kebbeh was driving from Basse, but upon reaching Bajana in Foni, his vehicle hit on Musa Jallow and Dodou Kandeh who were school children.

The two, Musa Jallow, 14, and Dodou Kandeh 12 were rushed to Sibanor Hospital by an officer from the Sibanor Police Station where they were pronounced dead, the Police officer stated.

Sgt Jallow, also exhibited the sketched plan of the fatal accident with two death certificates of Musa Jallow and Dodou Kandeh to prove how fatal the accident was before the court.   The case was then adjourned to the 7th July 2022.
