Bradford Madina United were over the weekend crowned champions of the Soccer Sports junior Knockout tournament after defeating Kotujumbulu United 5-3 on post-match penalty shootout following a goalless draw in the regulation time.
Both teams made brilliant attacking football but couldn’t capitalise on their chances created during the regulation, therefore, forcing the game into a shootout.
As winners, Bradford Madina United were awarded a giant trophy and a cash prize D6000, while the runners-up Kotujumbulu United were given a consolation prize of D4000.
Meanwhile, Musa Marena of Kotujumbulu United received the Man of the Match award with a cash prize of D250.
Speaking to Voice Sports, Ebrima T. Sambou, head coach of Bradford Madina United expressed delight for winning the Soccer Sports junior Knockout tournament, noting that he advised his attackers to push more to score goals during the game.
He added that they wished to win inside regulation time.
