Magistrate Peter Adoh Che of the Brikama Magistrate Court on the 6th July 2022 presided over the case of Alieu Camara who was allegedly accused of drug trafficking and was arrested on the 5th April 2021.
The accused, Alieu Camara was accused of smuggling 3kg and 250grams of cannabis through Sotokoi Police checkpoint in the West Coast Region where he was arrested.
The accused denied the allegations levied against him saying, “It is because I am speaking Aku language, this is why I was accused of trafficking cannabis.” The case was adjourned to the 14th of July 2022 for continuation.
Elsewhere, Magistrate Peter Adoh Che of the same court, on 6th July 2022 also presided over the case of one Samba Jallow who was also alleged of illegal drug trafficking at Jakoi, in the West Coast Region where he was arrested by the police officers on the 1st July 2022.
Samba Jallow was suspected to violate section 43 subsection 4 of the Gambia Drug Control Act 2005. The accused was alleged of smuggling 30kg, 900 grams of cannabis on the 1st July 2022. Samba Jallow agreed to the allegation levied against him. The court hearing was adjourned to 14th July 2022.
