Gambia’s Coach Tom Saintfiet has made the final list of nominees for the African Coach of the Year Award.
The Belgian-Gambian Coach is part of a list trimmed to five of Africa’s Best for the past year which also include Carlos Queiroz, Pitso Mosimane, Walid Regragui and Senegal’s Aliou Cisse.
The CAF Coach of the Year Award is termed as one of the highly contested categories.
Musa Barrow, James Gomez and The Gambia National Team that were all nominated for the Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and National Team of the Year categories respectively, missed out on the final cut.
Meanwhile, the Player of the Year and Interclub Player of the Year has 10 nominees each, whilst the Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year and Club of the Year has five (5) nominees each.
The winners of each category will be decided by a voting panel made up of CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations and clubs involved at the group stage of the Interclub competitions for the 2021/22 season.
The CAF Awards 2022 will be held in Rabat, Morocco on 21 July 2022.
