Red Scorpions, GPF win, Berewuleng held in GFF Women’s League

Red Scorpions FC and The Gambia Police Force (GPF) have both recorded a win, while Berewuleng were held in their week-12 fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s First Division League played overall the weekend.

Red Scorpions FC defeated Immigration 3-0 during the earlier game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum on Saturday.

Ola Buwaro opened the scoring in the 13 minute, before Fatou Fatty doubled their lead in the 39 minutes. Mariama Cham makes it a comfortable win with the third goal in the 53 minutes of the second half.

The Jeshwang-based team, Red Scorpions, have now collected their tenth win of the season, while Immigration suffered their ninth loss of the season.

Red Scorpions overall collected 10 wins, 2 draws and 0 defeats after 12 games, while Immigration FC overall registered 0 win, 3 draws and 9 losses after 12 matches.

The victory extended Red Scorpions lead at the top of the table with 32 points, while the defeat languished at the rock bottom (8th) position with 3 points.

Berewuleng FC were held to a goalless draw against their neighbors Brikama United during the late encounter played at the Late Ousman Saho Field on Saturday.

Berewuleng FC now collected their fourth draw of the season, while the Sateba Girls, Brikama United registered their third draw of the league.

Berewuleng overall registered 5 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats after 12 matches, while Brikama UUnited overall collected 2 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses after 12 games.

The result put Berewuleng at 3rd position with 19 points, while Brikama United occupied second from bottom (7th) position with 9 points.

Elsewhere, Gambia Police Force (GPF) defeated City Girls 2-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field on Sunday.

Mariama Dibba opened the scoring for City Girls in the 13 minutes.

Catherine Jatta leveled matters for the female police in the 30 minutes, before Mbassey Darboe scored the winning goal for the Gambia Police Force in the 69 minutes of the second half.

The female police now recorded ninth win of the league, while City Girls suffered their third loss of the competition.

GPF overall collected 9 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats after 12 games, while City Girls overall registered 4 victories, 5 draws and 3 losses after 12 games.

The win maintained Gambia Police Force at 2nd position with 28 points, while the defeat put City Girls at 4th position with 17 points.

Abuko United played a goalless draw against The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) during the late encounter played at the Late Ousman Saho field on Sunday.

The Abuko based team now collected their fourth draw of the league, while the female Soldiers registered their second draw of the league.

Abuko United overall collected 2 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats after 12 encounters, while GAF overall put together 4 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses after 12 matches.

The result put Abuko United at 6th position with 10 points, four points behind GAF who occupied 5th position with 14 points.
