One of the renowned businessmen in the country, Sillaba Samateh, a staunch supporter of President Adama Barrow, has welcomed the salary increment rolled out by the Government of President Adama Barrow while he called for seriousness and attitudinal change among the civil servants.
With this increment, he urged civil servants to be more committed and steadfast in their work and be more ready to deliver the country to the promised land after the increment.
The outspoken Businessman made these remarks at his residents in Brusubi where he called on the Gambia populace to allow the courts to carry out their work without interference. “I think every civil servant should be very happy with the 30 percent salary increment rolled out by the Government of President Adama Barrow.
“At this moment I think what is necessary and expected from all civil servants is to be more serious and committed to their work now than before,” Sillaba Samateh observed. He added: “The salary increment should be viewed as a motivating factor for the civil servants and I believe everyone should be grateful for this move undertaken by the government of President Adama Barrow.”
He called on civil servants to get more love for their works and delivered as expected of them, noting that lateness, idling and absenteeism should now be a thing of the past as the Government endeavors to uplift their livelihoods.
According to him, the government of President Adama Barrow has been delivering its promises to The Gambian people since assumed power in 2017, so, Gambians should now put aside their political differences and give their full to the President and his government and do their work as expected.
He observed that if Gambians failed to rally behind the President, it will be very difficult on his part to accelerate the development agendas of the government. But quickly add that now that the Gambians have given the mandate to the President for the next 5 years, they should join hands with him for the interest of the country.
Dilating on recent public outcry on the dispensation of justice to the common man, the staunch supporter of President Adama Barrow said Gambians should allow the courts to do their work, arguing that the Judges presiding over cases are Gambians who have sworn to the Quran and Bible before taking office.
“Am calling on every Gambian to be patient and allow the courts to deliver justice to those whose cases are before them. I believe the Judges are men and women of integrity who have taken the oath of office to deliver justice and I think Gambians should comport themselves and allow them to do their works,” he appealed.
He expressed his happiness regarding the progress of OIC projects ranging from the Airport VIP, the city roads, and the Airport-Berthil Hardings Highway. He said the contractors of these projects are very committed to their works and progress continues to be registered day by day.
He called on the President and his Cabinet to give more time to the contractors to be able to deliver to expectations, noting that road works are sometimes difficult to execute especially during the rainy season.
