The Gambia First Lady, Fatou Bah-Barrow on Sunday donated fifty (50) bags of paddy rice to the rice-growing communities of Central Badibou which was facilitated by Langbala Saho, the President of Dock Workers Association and Yankuba Dampha of Noo Kunda residing in France, at a presentation held in Njaba Kunda, North Bank Region.
The beneficiary women lamented that the support provided to them last year immensely contributed to their endeavors whilst assured of their commitment to rice production with further assurance of their unflinching support to the First Lady and called on all to support the development aspirations and sustainable peace.
Chief Alagie Jagne of Central Badibou thanked the First lady for her foresight and commitment in support of boosting rice production, while he described the quality seeds as an important ingredient to strengthen farmers’ capacity in food production. The women also appealed to the First Lady to support them with fertilizer to enable them to realize their potential in rice production, while they thanked her for the gesture.
