Lamin Demba, a Police Officer from Sibanor Police Station recently testified before Magistrate Peter Adoh Che in the ongoing fatal car accident case involving Lamin Nyassi, a resident of Kabakorr Village, West Coast Region.
Lamin Nyassi appeared before the Brikama Magistrate Court on July 28 2022, he was charged with one count of offence, reckless driving causing the death of eleven people, and he pleaded not guilty to the offence.
According to the particular of his offence, the driver, Lamin Nyassi, at Kabakorr ,West Coast Region, drove a vehicle in a negligent manner thereby causing the death of one Lamin Camara, Fatou Jallow, Lamin Sidibeh, Ass Ceesay, Abdourrahman Kanteh, John Paul Mendy, Bintou Trawally, Lalla Foffan, Baba Fofana, Bubaccar Kanteh and Momodou Worry Jallow, thereby committed an offence.
However, testifying before the presiding magistrate, Lamin Demba, the Police Officer said the accused identified himself to him and he also tendered his driving papers upon his request, but he realized that it was a fatal accident where many people were crying for the victims who were seriously injured.
He went further that he escorted the victims to Bwiam Hospital where some of them were treated.
At that juncture, the case was adjourned to the 5th of September 2022.
