The National People’s Party, (NPP) Jabang Ward Chairman for Old Yundum Constituency, Mr. Saidou Jallow has called for urgent support for the immediate rehabilitation of the Youna Village Bridge which is at the entrance border between Youna and Labakoreh Villages, Kombo North District in West Coast Region.
As a result of continuous rainfall, the flood eventually engulfed the Bridge with total destruction due to the heavy flood which has currently stopped vehicles and motorcycles from going out and entering the village.
Speaking to this medium, Mr Jallow outlined with grief as the rain has caused so many destructions to the bridge which resulted to vehicles no longer able to enter their community since.
He further raised so much concern and fear for the sick people, saying patients with emergency cases would be in the worst conditions if they are to be transported to hospitals via the bridge as it is a no-go area for vehicles or motorcycles.
On behalf of the village, Mr Jallow took this opportunity to seek urgent support from the government, NGOs, and philanthropists to come to their aid for the rehabilitation of the Bridge.
