GFF 2nd Division League week-31 update

PSV Wellingara has continued with their lead at the top of the Gambia Football Federation Second Division League, while Waterside FC also maintained position at the rock bottom of the league after playing their week-31 fixtures over the weekend.

The Wellingara-based team, PSV, defeated Tallinding United 3-1 during a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.

PSV now collected their nineteenth victory of the league, while the Buffer Zone boys, Talliding United suffered their tenth loss of the league.

The win maintained PSV Wellingara at the top of the standing with 62 points, while Tallinding United sit 7th position with 45 points, leveling with Gunjur United.

Waterside FC were beaten 3-1 by Greater Tomorrow during a game played at the Banjul KG5 Mini-Stadium.

The Banjul-based team, Waterside now suffered their sixteenth defeat of the league, while the Brikama-based team, G. Tomorrow recorded their eighteenth win of the league.

The defeat maintained Waterside FC at the rock bottom (18th) position with 26 points, while the victory maintained Greater Tomorrow at 2nd position with 59 points after 31 games.

Dibba Oil beat Wagadu 2-1 during a game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium in Jarra, Lower River Region.

The Lower River Region-based team, Dibba Oil registered their fourteenth triumph of the league, while the Upper River Region-based team, Wagadu suffered their seventeenth defeat of the tournament.

The result put Dibba Oil at 4th position with 48 points, while Wagadu occupied 17th position with 26 points.

Elsewhere, Medical FC beat Gunjur United 2-0 during a game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium on Saturday.

The Central River Region-based team, Medical FC now collected their eleventh win of the competition, while the Coastal Town boys, Gunjur United now suffered their tenth defeat of the tournament.

Medical FC now sit at 12th position with 38 points, while Gunjur United occupied 8th position with 45 points, leveling with Tallinding United.

Latrikunda United beat B4U Kiang West 2-1 during a game played at the Banjul KG5 Mini-Stadium.

The Sabiji-based team, Latrikunda now collected their ninth victory of the league, while the LRR-based team B4U suffered their eleventh loss of the competition.

The victory moved Latrikunda United to 13th position with 35 points, while B4U Kiang West occupied 11th position with 42 points.

Red Hawks FC played a goalless draw against Bombada FC in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Banjul-based team, Red Hawks recorded their seventh draw of the league, while the Brikama-based team, Bombada registered their tenth draw of the tournament.

The draw put Bombada FC at 3rd position with 52 points, while Red Hawks sit 16th position with 31 points.

Jarra West defeated Immigration 2-1 during a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum.

The LRR team, Jarra West recorded their twelfth win of the tournament, while Immigration FC registered their eighth loss of the competition.

The result put Jarra West at 10th position with 43 points, while Immigration occupied 5th position with 47 points.

Young Africans and Jam City played a 2-2 draw during a game played at the Banjul KG5 Mini-Stadium on Sunday.

The Banjul-based team, Young Africans collected their thirteenth draw of the league, while the Jambanjelly-based team, Jam City recorded their eighth draw of the tournament.

The result occupied Young Africans at 14th position with 34 points, two points ahead of the Jam City, who sit 15th position with 32 points.
