The Bakau Sports Committee (BSC) on Sunday began its 2022 Nawettan qualifying round season with ten teams competing for spots in the Nawettan proper.
The Bakau Nawettan qualifiers is in the form of a group stage with ten teams slipped into two groups
Inter Bakau Academy and Old Jeshwang began the qualifiers tournament with a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Both the Bakau-based team and the Old Jeshwang based team opened their qualifiers with three more games to play.
Elsewhere, Kolonding beat Red Stars 1-0 during the second game of the qualifiers played on Monday.
The Farokono-based team became the first qualifying round team to collect the maximum and boost their chances of a place to the nawettan proper tournament.
On Tuesday, Samton Academy also defeated Wasulung 1-0 during the third qualifying game played at the Bakau football field.
The Academy boys also collected their maximum points of the tournament.
Bayba FC also smashed 10-man Baggio Academy 2-0 during a game played on Wednesday.
The Academy boys, Baggio who were later reduced to ten-men suffered their first defeat in their opening game of the tournament.
Meanwhile, at the time of going to press yesterday, on Thursday, Sunshine was taking on Kolonding FC.
