Kansala FC were yesterday on Sunday, crowned champions of the Bakau Nawettan curtain raiser (Super Cup) final after defeating Fajara Barracks 5-4 in post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
The game which attracted hundreds of fans was played at the Bakau football park on Sunday.
Yusupha Jammeh opened the scoring for Kansala in the 13th minute while Sainey Tamba levelled the score of Fajara Barracks in 29 minutes of the game.
The Soldiers, Fajara Barracks finished the game with 10 men after one of their players was shown a red card.
As winners, Kansala FC were awarded a giant trophy and a cash prize of D20, 000, while the runners up Fajara Barracks FC received a consolation prize of D15, 000.
This year’s Bakau Nawettan Super Cup final is named after the late Alhagi Momodou M.B Jaiteh
