Scorpions’ midfielder Ablie Jallow has netted twice during his French side Metz FC 6-3 home defeat over Guingamp FC in their week-8 fixture of the French Ligue 2 played at the Stade Saint-Symphorien on Monday.
The 23-year-old scored his side’s (Metz) second and third goals before opening the lead through Vincent Manceau own-goal in the 2nd minute of the game.
‘Germano’ as he fondly called first scored a header in the 10th minute, before sending a sublime freekick in the 16th minute.
The Bundung-born player has featured in every game of the club’s eight Ligue 2 matches in 2022/2023 and accumulated 529 minutes of playing time.
The Gambian international started in six of the eight league games for Metz and came on as a substitute on two occasions so far.
He so far netted three goals in the Ligue 2 campaign, which ranks him joint ninth overall in this category in 2022/2023, while also making him the second-top league scorer for his side.
Ablie Jallow scored his first goal of the season against Valenciennes in a 2-0 victory on August 13.
Metz find themselves eighth in the standings with 11 points and next face a trip to Bastia in Ligue 2 action on September 17.
Meanwhile, Jallow returned to Metz in July 2022 after a loan spell at RFC Seraing, for whom he made 44 league appearances in total, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.
Ablie played in 23 games for RFC Seraing, scored five goals and provided one assist last season in Belgian First Division A.
