Serrekunda West Nawettan Update

Serrekunda West Sports Development Organisation (SWESDO) has commenced its second-round fixtures of their ongoing Nawettan football with all games playing at the Serrekunda West Mini-Stadium.

We start our update with some of the matches in the first round starting on Monday, 12th September 2022.

Kanifing United were held to a goalless draw by Empty Land during their opening group A match on Monday 12th September 2022.

Muhammed Tunkara of Kanifing United was awarded the man of the Match award after his outstanding performance during the game.

Bundas defeated Tigers 2-1 during their opening group D game played later on Monday.

Cherno and Prince scored for Bundas, while Jallow scored the only goal for Tigers.

Hunters FC held Galaxy FC to a goalless draw during their opening group F game played earlier on Tuesday.

Hamza Badjie was given the Man of the Match award after his fine contribution for his team Hunters FC.

Pipeline also played a barren goalless draw against EFFA Lions in their opening group F game played later Tuesday.

Bangaly Tunkara of EFFA Lions was awarded the Man of the Match award during the game.

Pencha were held to a one all draw by Old Jeshwang during their opening Group F game played earlier on Wednesday.

Sulayman Jallow of Old Jeshwang was given the Man of the Match award for his contribution to the team.

Unicorns defeated Hapapa 2-0 during their opening group E game played later on Wednesday.

Ebou Nderr and Amath Gisse scored for Unicorns during the game. While Lamin Kanteh of Unicorns was awarded the Man of the Match award.

Meanwhile, Janta Bii began the Serrekunda West Nawettan second round games with a one all draw against Madac during their group A game played earlier on Thursday.

Ebrima Jatta opened the scoring for Madac, while Joe Camara restored purity for Janta Bii.

Kawsu Bayo of Madac was voted Man of the Match for his wonderful contribution for his side during the game.

The Bundung-based team, Janta Bii who won their opening group A game (1-0) against Gintos now collected four points, while Madac collected two points after drawing goalless against Old Hands in their opening game in group A.

Empty Land whipped Old Hands 3-1 during their second group A game played later on Wednesday.

Mam Samba Saine, Mansour Conteh and Sedia Jobe scored for Empty Land, while Modou Ceesay scored the only consolation goal for Old Hands.

Abdoulie Njie of Empty Land was awarded the Man of the Match by the SWESDO committee.

Meanwhile, the Old Hands side now collected a single point after drawing their opening game against Madac, while Empty Land now collected four points after playing a goalless draw against Kanifing United during their opening group A game.

Kanifing United beat Gintos 1-0 during their second group A game played on Friday.

Abdou Joof scored the game’s only goal for Kanifing United in the 32nd minute, before being awarded the Man of the Match award.

Kanifing United now collected four points after playing a goalless draw against Empty Land in their opening game, while Gintos recorded zero points after they were beaten in two of the fixtures in group A.

Kanifing Layout defeated Konge Bii 2-0 during their second group C game played later on Friday.

Musa Bangura opened the scoring for Kanifing Layout in the early 4th minute of the game, before Alagie Kijera doubled their lead in the 63rd minute of the second half.

The opening goal-scorer Musa Bangura was awarded the Man of the Match award by the SWESDO committee after the game.

Ruha Gii was held to a goalless draw against BK Central during their second group B game played earlier on Saturday.

Joseph Kanfourn of Ruha Gii was awarded the Man of the Match award after his fine performance during the game.

Meanwhile, the London Corner-based team Ruha Gii now collected four points after defeating Erinjang 1-0 in their opening game, while BK Central now collected a single point after their 4-0 defeat to Jeshwang United in their opening game.

Anfield played a goalless draw against Erinjang during their second group B game played later on Saturday. Gabriel King was awarded the Man of the Match award.

Meanwhile, Anfield now collected four points after defeating Babun Fatty in their opening game, while Erinjang now collected one point after they were defeated 1-0 by Ruha Gii in their opening game.

At the time of going to press yesterday, on Sunday, Bilbao were taking on Blackpool in the earlier game, before Tababi took on Bundas in the late encounter.
