Members of the ruling party in Nigeria, APC, residing in The Gambia, on Friday, 16th September 2022, officially inaugurated the Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO) Gambia Chapter.
The official inauguration of the organisation held at the Gambia Methodist Academy, Bakau was witnessed by a large number of party members in The Gambia and other sympathizers.
Alhaji Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the All Progressive Congress (APC) party nominee for the upcoming 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, prior now he had served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and Senator for Lagos West during the Third Republic. Like other APC members in Nigeria and Diaspora, the TSO Gambia Chapter as well declared Senator Tinubu and his running mate, Alhaji Shettima as their party flag bearers in the forthcoming election due in 2023.
Speaking at the inauguration of the TSO Gambia Chapter, Chief Toye Rasaq, the Agbaakin of Yoruba in The Gambia who is the Country Coordinator thanked God and members of the TSO in the Gambia for making the day a reality.
Chief Rasaq thanked the National Chairman of the TSO and leaders “for this awesome vision born out of selfless love for our dear country, Nigeria.”
Tinubu Support Organisation, he disclosed, was launched a couple of years ago by Honourable Aminu and it is a non-government organization loyal to the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He noted that it spreads across the 36 States of Nigeria, represented in all the 774 local governments in Nigeria, and exists in several countries all over the world such as the UK, USA, and Canada among others.
“The inauguration of the TSO Gambia Chapter marks a special day in the annals of our chapter to officially inaugurate our chapter which has been in existence for about two years,” he stated.
Therefore, “the decision we take in the next election will tell the direction of our country in the future,” he echoed.
According to him, he said they have checked all the presidential candidates of all major parties in the country and found out the most profitable choice that is appropriate for the present condition of Nigeria is Senator Ahmmed Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on behalf of Chief (Barrister) Asiwaju Azeez Oladapo Yusuf, the Grand Patron of the TSO Gambia Chapter was Olawale Fasosin, he applauded the members. With great belief, he said that comes 2023 the TSO Gambia Chapter with other chapters across the world will come together to jubilate and celebrate the victory of Alhaji Senator Ahmmed Bola Tinubu as the president-elect and successor of the incumbent president.
On behalf of the Grand Patron, he assured the Gambia Chapter of the TSO of full support from the National office of the TSO in Nigeria while reassuring them of greater days ahead.
Among other speakers at the inauguration who had delivered very great and educative remarks included Rotarian Kehinde Omotowa who spoke on the role of diaspora in Nigeria politics, Engineer Yahya Salawudeen gave a synopsis of Senator Tinubu and Alhaji Shettima ticket; while Assistant Pastor Mathew Ajibike current president of Yoruba Community in The Gambia, made a comprehensive speech on the role of Yoruba in the upcoming 2023 elections while Rotarian Kolade Adesiyan the TSO publicity secretary delivered closing remarks and Alhaja Bukola Taiwo deputy coordinator TSO Gambia Chapter delivered the vote of thanks.
Melody music played to entertain the crowd at the inauguration of the TSO Gambia Chapter.
