Karamba Bojang, a narcotic Officer at the Bijilo Scientific United, on Wednesday, 21st September 2022 testified in an ongoing drug case involving Omar Fatty at the Brikama magistrates’ Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Isatou Dabo.PW5 NCO3 Karamba Bojang told the Court that on the 21st of January 2022 he took the sample of the suspected drug of the accused, Omar Fatty labeled O42, 2022 to the Lab where the suspected drug of the accused was confirmed to be cannabis resin.
“The accused, Omar Fatty, signed the analytical report of the suspected drug “, PW5 NCO3 Karamba Bojang noted.
However, Omar Fatty asked the PW5, NCO3 Karamba Bojang if he was told by the Police Drug Officers the reasons why he was arrested and he answered yes.
The accused said he was not informed of going to PW5 NCO3 Karamba Bojang’s Office at Bijilo for the analytical report.
At this juncture, Prosecuting Officer Nicholas Jammeh requested the court to admit and mark the analytical report of the suspected drug of the accused as an exhibit, while the presiding Principal Magistrate said the analytical report is relevant to the matter under section 3 of the evidence act and admitted it by marking as exhibit 4.
The case was later adjourned to the 3rd of October 2022. Meanwhile, Omar Fatty was accused of having prohibited drugs for drug trafficking contrary to section 43 (4) of the Drug Control Act, 2003. Nicholas Jammeh represented the DLEAG.
