Ebrima G. Sankareh, Government Spokesperson and Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs have disclosed that the government is about to set a commission of inquiry into the death of over 70 children across the country on suspicion of taking a contaminated paracetamol syrup from one India.
Speaking on West Coast Radio on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, he further disclosed that the commission will consist of members from different institutions including a Supreme Court judge as chair, a member from the medical practitioner whose experience shall be not less than ten years, personnel from the social welfare department and a Child Protection Alliance official.
He added that these four members shall constitute the commission with some other technical and support staff.
He told West Coast Coffee Time that the public will be informed before the commencement of the sittings of this commission, noting what is important is the identification of the member has already been approved and work had already begun.
He noted selecting people for certain responsibilities is as important as this one, saying that “if you do it rashly you might also go with some blame.
