4H Gambia, a local NGO, on Saturday organised a national gathering with cluster youth clubs and the national board to review progress, discuss challenges, and map out strategies for the implementation of projects and programs.
The gathering was held in Farafenni, North Bank Region.
Speaking on the occasion, Musa Samura, National Board Chairman of 4H Gambia said the convergence aimed at strengthening good governance and accountability at all levels.
He noted that the gathering formed part of the annual plan of activities while it provide platforms for members to report on past activities and their impact on the lives of young people at cluster levels.
The 4H Gambia National Board chairman uses the moment to thank 4H Norway for their outstanding support for youth development and empowerment.
Alieu Ceesay, National Program Director for 4H Gambia underscored the significance of such gathering, as it has brought together management and the board of directors closer to beneficiaries to discuss the possible impact of the youths Friendly projects.
He noted that the platform accorded all to discuss the 2021 annual and audit reports as well as the work plan. Director Ceesay noted that the gathering will further discuss on Global Environment Facility project to mitigate the effect of climate change and food security.
Gibriel Dem of Fittu Fula 4H cluster in SAMI District of Central River Region North disclosed that the intervention in cereal banking, vegetable production, the establishment of club farms, and other income-generating activities enable youths to stay and contribute to sustainable development.
