The Honourable Minister of Tourism and Culture (MoTC) earlier this week led some tourism delegations to the UK to attend this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) to sell The Gambia as one of the most sought-after tourism destinations in Africa.
Honourable Hamat NK Bah was accompanied to the popular World Travel Market which was held between 7th to 9th November 2022 in London UK by his Tourism Board, Director General Mr Bubacarr Camara, Tourism Board Chairman, Mr Batch Fye, Mr Fansu Bojang of Gambia Civil Aviation Authority, Adama Njie Director of Tourism Promotion of the GTBoard, and some tour operators including Charbel Hobeika Managing Director of Gambia Tours among other delegations.
The Gambian High Commissioner to the UK, HE Fatou Bensouda, DHM Suntou Touray and staff joined The Gambia stand at the world travel expo to support the delegations in marketing the Gambian Tourism.
Minister Bah and his delegations engaged the world travel experts in series of meeting which will generate turnaround for the Gambia, and their presence boost the understanding of current needs and trends in the World Travel Market.
Adama Njie Director of Tourism Promotion of the GTBoard said the marketing of The Gambia at the World Travel Market will increase the volume and flow of tourists to The Gambia, which will consequently have a tremendous positive impact “on our foreign currency reserves and import commodities price reduction.” However, other Gambian volunteers were also in attendance.
