Ebrima Dampha, a resident of Old Yundum Village has denied breaking into the house of Mariama Jallow where materials worth D148,000 were stolen but he confirmed having the key to the victim’s house.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Isatou Nara Jallow in the ongoing burglary and theft case at the Brusubi Magistrates’ Court.
During the cross-examination with Sergent 5258 Alieu Faye, he said the complainant, Mariama Jallow, gave him the keys to her house at Yarambamba Estate, noting that the thieves used the same key to open the house but Ebrima Dampha denied breaking into the said property of the victim.
He alleged that the 2nd accused, Basiru Joof broke into the house of the complainant and carted away the complainant’s property.
He went further that Basiru Joof went to the victim’s house before the day of the incident but he denied being part of the burglary and stealing.
The case was adjourned to the 12th December 2022 for the hearing of the 2nd accused person’s defense.
Meanwhile, the particular offense filed before the court revealed that Ebrima Dampha and Basiru Joof on the 2nd September 2022 at Old Yundum, Kombo North in the West Coast Region of the Republic of The Gambia the two accused broke into the house of Mariama Jallow of Yundum and stole one smart TV of 43 inches valued at D13,000, one Opa phone valued at D10,000 and a router at the cost of D25,000 amounted to D148,000 belonging to Mariama Jallow of Old Yundum, thereby committed an offense.
