One Abdoulie Conateh was arranged for a rape trial contrary to section 2(c) of the sexual offense Act of 2013 and punishable under section 4 (a) (III)(c) of the sexual offense Act of 2013.
The accused Abdoulie Conateh on Wednesday 7th December 2022 appeared before Justice Sherriff B. Tabally at the Brikama High Court for raping a minor (name withheld) at Brikama Kanebujeh Village in West Coast Region.
The amended charge sheet filed by the State prosecutor revealed that Abdoulie Conateh last year at Brikama Kambujeh in the West Coast Region of the Republic of The Gambia within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court unlawfully and under coercive circumstances had carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old, thereby committed an offense.
The state counsel R. Duanda at the beginning of the court pleaded to the court for an adjournment to enable her to file a response to the accused counsel who was absent at the court.
It was granted by the presiding judge Sherriff B. Tabally and the case was adjourned to 19th January 2023. Prosecutor R. Duanda represented the State of The Gambia.
