Direct Aid Charity Foundation Provides Free Surgical Camp for Patients

Direct-Aid the Gambia has launched a three- day free surgical support for over 40 patients with   various health conditions at the Sharab Hospital, Kanifing.

Ansumana Kinteh Programme Coordinator Direct-Aid the Gambia said the surgical camp will treat forty patients with various health conditions after which another camp will be organised by the organisation which will focus on patients with vascular virginal problems and other sicknesses.

He noted that Direct-Aid might not be able to have all the money for this surgical operation but due to collaboration with Sharab, the hospital always render support to the organisation.

“We want to further consolidated this by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sharab Hospital because this is an annual event and by doing that, we want to sign an MoU that will make it official so that every year   from October to December we can organize such event with the hospital,” he said.

He added that this year`s surgical camp shows that if there is more collaboration, more people will benefit from such a medical camp.

Mr. Kinteh further promised the patients that they are in a safe hand that they will have a successful surgery, saying those who have pass before you have their testimony and we want next year one of you the patients here to come and tell us your successful story.

Mr. Baboucarr Gaye speaking on behalf of the Sharab Medical Director and his medical team said, is a glorious occasion that Direct-Aid in collaboration with Sharab Hospital is able to conduct a surgical camp with 40 patients who will be treated and given a better life after the surgery.

“There is more camp planned for the future and immediately after this one there is another camp to be organized to treat more conditions that are expected,” he said by thanking the foundation on behalf of the Sharab medical team and also call on the community to be involve, extending his sincere gratitude to the patients for the trust they have built in Sharab.
