The police prosecution witness has failed to appear at the court after the prosecutor’s plea for a stand down in the ongoing case of one Biram Sowe who is standing trial on assault before Principal Magistrate Isatou Dabo of Brikama
The Senegalese citizen Biram Sowe residing at Brikama Nyambai was charged with assault on the 23rd of December 2021 and was arraigned before the court for assaulting one Ousman B. Sanneh by stabbing him with a knife which resulted in serious injuries.
When the accused was called at the dock, he was expecting his case to continue after Inspector Kemo Y. Manneh, the police prosecutor, pleaded for a stand down of ten minutes for the arrival of his witness who had informed him to be around Brikama Market but failed to appear at the court when the case was recalled by magistrate Isatou Dabo.
PW3’s absence for the continuation of the Senegalese’s case changed the countenance of the accused at the dock but his counsel Sulayman Jallow agreed with the police prosecutor for an adjournment.
At this juncture, the presiding Magistrate Isatou Dabo granted his plea and adjourned the case to 17th January 2022 for the hearing of PW3.
The particulars of the offense filed by the police prosecutor before the court revealed that Biram Soweon the 23rd of December 2021 at Brikama Nyambai unlawfully assaulted one Ousman B. Sanneh by stabbing him with a knife on his thigh that resulted in injuries, thereby committing an offense.
