Hart FC, of the Lower River Region, and Kuteh Jombulu of the Upper River Region, have been promoted to Gambia Football Federation National League Division Two.
Hart FC gained promotion following their scintillating 1-0 win over NBR champions Rockland FC in a playoff game at the Jarra Soma Mini Stadium on Thursday 29th December 2022.
Hart FC took a deserved lead in the 69th minute when star player Alasan Saidy blasted a left-footed volley into the roof of the net. The goal was the game’s only goal as Rockland failed to level the narrowest margin.
Kuteh Jumbulu beat Medina Nfally 2-1 to register an indelible name as another URR side ready to join the bandwagon in the national league after Wagadu FC had a short spell in the competition and got relegated.
The URR champions and LRR heavyweights are the two teams from the provincial regions ready for the national second-tier competition. The knock-out games complete the second division number for this month’s start of the new domestic 2022/2023 season games complete the second division number for the start of the new domestic 2022/2023 season this month.
GFF General Secretary Lamin M Jassey, Presidents of the various competing regions, attended the playoff matches and were supervised by the GFF competitions department.
After their wins and eventual promotions to league division two, both Kuteh Jombulu and Hart FC were each presented with five Tempo match balls for their technical preparations ahead and during the league season.
