The United Democratic Party’s selection committee has confirmed that the biggest opposition party will contest 99 wards, the Mayoral seats of Banjul and KMC plus all 6 regional Chairmanships.
The UDP made the confirmation on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the Manjai Bureau where the party finalized the selection of councillors for the local government elections, adding that seven additional candidates were selected in addition to the 92 that were earlier selected in December 202 making the party candidates 99.
The councillorship elections in the 120 wards will be held on 15 April 2023, while the Chairmanship and Mayoral elections will be held on 20 May 2023.
