Banjul beat GAF 2-1 in a tense encounter played at the Bakau Mini Stadium. The capital boys took a two-goal lead through Ensa Jammeh and Captain Pa Omar Babu in the 35th and 54th minutes, respectively, before Samsideen Badjie scored a consolation from the penalty spot in the 60th minute for GAF.
Both teams were reduced to 10 men with substitute Francise Cole for the Army and Alieu Sanneh for Banjul United both sent off.
Brikama United compounded Samger’s misery with a comfortable 2-0 win at the Box Bar Mini Stadium, with first-half goals from Sainey Bojang and Mustapha Drammeh making the difference. The Academy Boys who were later reduced to 10 men after Famara Camara received a second yellow lost their second consecutive game, conceding seven goals without a reply in total following last week’s 5-0 defeat to Real de Banjul. Elsewhere, Fortune’s poor run continued at the Late Ousman Saho Field as the Petroleum Boys lost their third game in a row with a 2-1 defeat to Gamtel. Momodou Fadera’s own goal and Jerreh Sanyang’s converted penalty gave Jim Kebbeh’s side a two-goal advantage but Patrick Sylva scored what proved to be a consolation from a 76th-minutesth minute penalty.
