Humanity First International, a UK-based charitable organization has donated 20 boreholes to Lower River, Upper River and West Coast Regions respectively.
During the presentation, Mr. KawsuKinteh, Chairman of Humanity First Gambia Branch expressed delight in handing over the boreholes to the various communities, adding that the main objective of the foundation is to serve humanity irrespective of religion, political affiliation, racial or any form of social integration.
He thanked the office of the governor’s especially the Central River Region and the government of the Gambia for their support and logistics.
Ousman Bah, Governor of the Central River Region and his deputy Sainey Mbye both acknowledged the contribution of the foundation in the region and described them as good and reliable partners in development.
He stressed that the need for safe and clean drinking water is much needed in the region and therefore appealed to other donors and philanthropist to come forward and assist the community
The Alkalo of Jonkell in the West Coast Region thanks Humanity First the Gambia for providing them access to clean drinking water for which they have been yearning for more than two decades.
Aja Binta Bah spoke on behalf of the women and expressed delight over the project and prayed for its sustainability.
