Young Scorpions coach Abdoulie Bojang says his team must be vigilant and concentrated when they face the Young Copper Bullets of Zambia in their second match of the ongoing TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Gambia beat Tunisia in the opening match of Group C on Tuesday in Alexandria courtesy of Captain Alagie Saine’s glancing header six minutes from time.
Bojang was promoted to take charge of the Young Scorpions following the departure of Mattar M’Boge.
“We must be vigilant, concentrated, we must not rush because we won our first match by discipline and determination,” the former Scorpions midfielder said.
“You have to be mentally concerned. We will see everything to qualify, I try to motivate the players to no longer have disappointment like in Liberia.
““Zambia has a great team, they want a win at all costs. We must not have excuses, new ground or not, we will fight for The Gambia.”
Kajally Drammeh is one of the stars from the 2021 TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania and the Cape Town City winger expects a tough match against the COSAFA winners.
“The match against Tunisia was difficult, the game has changed, it’s a different game ahead of us but we want to win and qualify,” said the former Real de Banjul ace.
