TotalEnergies AFCON U-20: ‘We are not done yet’ – Gambia coach Bojang

Gambia coach Abdoulie Bojang says they are on a mission in Egypt following Friday’s 2-0 victory over Zambia in Group C of the ongoing TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Young Scorpions booked their ticket to the quarter-finals thanks to second half goals from Kajally Drammeh and Captain Alagie Saine.

Drammeh and Saine were part of the Young Scorpions team that won bronze two years ago in Mauritania.

“We will celebrate the win but just for tonight,” the former international told journalists. “We cannot be too excited because we are not yet done with our mission here.”

“We have a complete team and a lot of tactical work has been done to prepare everyone to compete.

“We take it game by game. We enjoy the moment and then leave it behind us to focus on the next challenge,” the former Steve Biko coach said.

Bojang is one of his country’s highly rated coaches with his coaching style earning him many plaudits back home.

The former Scorpions midfielder guided his boyhood club Steve Biko to the 2013 Gambia Football Federation Division One League title before taking up the national U-17 team.

The Gambia have an unassailable lead at the summit of Group C and they will wrap up their group fixture with a meeting against Benin.
