Jeshwang United has started GFF’s women’s league division one and two with a heavy win over Future Bi at the LYDSA in Basori on Sunday.
Newly promoted Jeshwang United and last season’s third-place finishers Berewuleng got their season underway with dominant displays against Future Bi and Raptim respectively.
Jeshwang United recorded a 4-0 thumping of Future Bi at the LYDSA, in Basori with Marie D Mendy scoring a quartet of goals to send her team to the summit.
Meanwhile, Berewuleng came from behind to beat Raptim 3-1 at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Yundum. Kaddy Camara gave Raptim the lead in the 20th minute before Ellen Gomez, Aja Jabang, and goal poacher Teddy Serreh Jatta put the game to bed for Bere in the 29, 34, and 39th minutes respectively. The victory took Bere to the joint top.
Elsewhere, in league division two, Greater Tomorrow and Yakarr FC played a 1-1 draw in Yundum. Elizabeth Ndicky scored for Greater Tomorrow while Joko Saho for Yakarr.
Also on Sunday, Mansally got the better of Lower Niumi in the NBR derby in Soma with a narrow 1-0 victory to collect maximum points.
Matches of week two in both divisions will run in various nuts from Fridathe y, 3rd to Sunday, 5th February 2023.
