Talib Ahmed Bensouda, Mayor of the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) urged Gambians to desist from Tribal politics, he made this call as he continued his mayoral tour held in Kotu on Thursday.

“All the tribes own the country and the most important thing is that we are all Gambians. Bensouda as an individual no one can tell which tribe I came from so I advise the people to desist from this and work as one to develop the country.

“We should not give chance to the people who don’t have any agenda to develop the country but only to destroy the country with political words,” he stressed.

He pointed out that he will give a chance to anyone to explain his development plans, adding there is no play at KMC, only hard work and development are at the council.

However, Mayor Bensouda added that everyone venturing into politics intends to develop the country and that is how they are living at KMC in peace and prosperity.

“There is no politics at KMC but togetherness. Maybe it can happen in the past but KMC today under my rule is controlled by all the parties and we came together to work as one due to the interest of the country.”

Meanwhile, Hon Bensouda assured the people of Kotu of development and helping the youths and women in the area. Noting Youth is important in a country because they are the leaders of the future.
