GFF division one league wraps up

The Gambia Football league division one Baluwo official partner week 12   wrapped on Thursday with some exciting matches played.

The five matches played recorded 13 goals, averaging 2.6 per game in an entertaining afternoon of Gambian football.

 Real de Banjul came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Fortune in Basori. Alieu Barry’s 11th-minute penalty gave the Petroleum boys the lead. Abdoulie Ceesay restored parity for the Whites a minute into the second half.

Meanwhile, GAF stunned Wallidan with a 1-2 come-from-behind win in Banjul. The Blues took the lead in the 20th minute through talisman Abdoulie Manneh, but goals from Kabiro Barrow and Francis Cole in the 29th and 44th minutes gave the Army maximum points.

Elsewhere, Gamtel lost a second game in a row as they succumbed to Alieu Kuyateh’s 85th-minute goal for Samger in a 1-0 win for the Academy boys at the Late Ousman Saho Field.

PSV Wellingara and Banjul United played a five-goal thriller in Brikama.

 Captain Pa Omar Babu opened the scoring for City boys in the ninth minute but Ousman Jammeh equalized for the Wellingara-based outfit in the 39 minutes.

 Jerreh Marong extended their lead in 59 minutes, but Pa Omar Babu completed his brace with an 86-minute equalizer

. As the match looked destined for a distinct draw Muhammed Mbye stunned PSV with the winning goal a minute from time to give Banjul United maximum points.

Marimoo Pakfood came from behind to force a 1-1 draw against Waa Banjul in a game that saw Pa Omar Bajan score for Marimoo and Malick Ceesay for Waa Banjul shown a straight red card for a clash after the final whistle.

Meanwhile, U-20 and Waa Banjul attacking midfielder Momodou Salieu Jallow made a goalscoring return following his arrival from Cairo last evening, with a well-taken goal in the 62nd minute.

But Marimoo Pakfood’s Yakuba Jallow made sure that their unbeaten start to the season is intact with a 71st-minute equalizer.
