A prison officer at Mile two Central Prison on Monday told the Kanifing High Court that Samba Kebbeh, a prisoner at Jeshwang prison has escaped the prison.
This came shortly after counsel F Mballow announced her appearance for the State and the judge asked the whereabouts of the appellant and he was told by a Mile Two prison officer that Samba Kebbeh escaped the prison.
“Before coming we called the Jeshwang prison to collect Samba Kebbeh and we were told that Samba Kebbeh escaped from custody on the 26th of February,” he told the court.
Justice Isatou Janneh said the court will take another adjourned date and if the appellant is not here on the next adjourned date, his appeal will be struck out.
She later adjourned the case to the 4th of May for further hearing.
