Alleged fraudster pleaded not guilty to 45 million CFA fraud charges against him

Abdoulie Keita, a Senegalese nationality, on Wednesday, at Banjul Magistrates’ Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Muhammed Krubally pleaded not guilty to the charge pressed against him that he obtained 45,000,000 CFA from Sheikh Seidou Cham with the pretext of selling four vehicles to him.

According to his particular offense Abdoulie Keita in the years 2020 and 2023 at Banjul and diverse places in the Republic of The Gambia by pretense and with intent to defraud, obtained an amount of 45,000,000 CFA, equivalent to D4, 674,730.20 from Sheikh Seidou Cham with the pretext that he was going to sell four vehicles marked Ford F150, Range Rover Evoque, Ford Fusion Hybrid and BMW 7 series to one Sheikh Seidou Cham which representation he knew to be false or not true. 

Meanwhile, the matter was adjourned to the 19th of April 2023 for a hearing.
