The Chairlady of the United Democratic Party of Brikama South, Yama Sanneh Cham, on Thursday, said her party will sweep West Coast Region polls in the upcoming Local Government election due on Saturday.
Speaking to this medium, Madam Cham said her party (UDP) is ready and willing to salvage the nation from hardship, adding that the United Democratic Party is here for development and that she has confidence in Yankuba Darboe, UDP candidate for the Chairman of Brikama Area Council.
“Yankuba Darboe will invest the revenue collected into the development of the West Coast Region,” she said.
Madam Cham stressed that President Adama Barrow should bring rapid development across the regions irrespective of the opposition parties leading the councils, noting it is his responsibility to develop the nation.
However, Chairlady Cham added that if the UDP candidate wins the chairmanship seat of Brikama Area Council he will stop women vendors from selling beside the Brikama road to save lives from fatal accidents along the road.
“UDP candidates will certainly bring development in the region if voted into office and they will deliver the nation from hardship ranging from the high cost of living and poor road network.”
She, therefore, pleaded to the Independent Electoral Council to conduct the Local Government election with fairness and transparency and urged every citizen to go and vote for their councilors, noting that their vote is their right, power, and will for change, for a better Gambia.
