GAMBIAN AMBASSADOR TO NORWAY PRESENTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO KING HARALD V

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of The Gambia to the Kingdom of Norway, Her Excellency Dr. Fatou Bensouda on 14th April 2023 presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Harald V of Norway, at a ceremony held at The Royal Palace in Oslo.

Following presentation of her credential, Ambassador Bensouda conveyed greetings of His Excellency Mr. Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia to the King. She discussed renewed commitment and attention of The Gambia government to the friendship and cordial bilateral relations that exist between the Kingdom of Norway and The Gambia. Dr Bensouda expressed to the King her desire in the name of the President and country to view the new Gambia on strong path of consolidating democratic gains where the rule of law and, respect for human rights will reign supreme not only in The Gambia but also in the wider international community with The Gambia’s landmark case at the ICJ on the Rohingya crises in to focus.

H.E. Dr. Bensouda also highlighted the presence of the large Gambian community in Norway many of whom are actually Gambian Norwegians and their positive contribution in enriching the Norwegian society.  

His Majesty King Harald V congratulated Ambassador Bensouda on her assumption of duties and assured her of the continued friendship and support of the Kingdom of Norway for the development of The Gambia and her people.
