At the 8th edition of the exhibition, Mamat Sallah exhibited two digital photography artworks. Among other exhibitions he has attended within the sub-region his works are always unique thus there is no one yet in this circuit of Digital Photography.
According to him, “I have been interacting with different artists and many Gambian photographers but most of them are more like commercial photographers which are mostly taking pictures at ceremonies and so on.”
He described the selection as another great opportunity for him as one of the Guest Mentors to share his work experience with other professional and upcoming artists together with those that will visit the exhibition gallery.
However, Digital photography/art, he explained is a form of having different pictures reassemble to fit what you want to express or the message you want to pass across to people, “it is a new dimension of photography and is more an abstract which has given me space to fit into any fine arts platform.”
