NPP BAC Chairmanship Candidate Speaks in Foni Bondali

By Mustapha Jarju

The National People`s Party candidate for the Brikama Area Council Chairmanship, Seedy Ceesay, has said that the opposition parties and the independent candidates are not opposing the president nor the government but the people whom they are seeking votes from.

Mr. Ceesay speaking at his campaign meeting in Foni Bondali on Saturday night said the president is calling for development while the independent candidates and the opposition parties are calling for backwardness. He, then, asked the people of Bondali whether they will want to go backward by voting for the opposition parties and the independent candidates in the run for BAC chairmanship.

“If you can recall the National Assembly Members (NAMs) who are not NPP led by the UDP minority leader in the Assembly overseeing the local governments and Area Councils had said that the work of the area councils was not enough because of economic mismanagement”, he said.

He continued that, the power vested in the president made him decide to investigate them though this turned out to be a problem and that shows that what the oppositions are up to there is not true because the local government laws give power to the people who pay their tax to be used wisely.

Seedy Ceesay told the people of Bondali that, during the tenure of Sheriffo Sonko he did good works that were guaranteed at the Brikama Area Council.

He added that anyone powered by President Barrow supported on truth.
