Pa Modou Mbowe, an APRC No To Alliance Candidate for the Kanifing Municipal Council vying for the seat of the Mayor in the municipality recently revealed that former President Yahya AJJ Jammeh endorsed his candidacy to contest in the upcoming Mayoral, Chairmanship elections.

In an exclusive interview with The Voice, yesterday, said “Yahya Jammeh endorsed my candidacy, he is aware of my participation because he is our flag bearer, and Party Leader, also, Jammeh has blessed our campaign with the best of results.”

Pa Mbowe added that currently his party is not in administration to showcase projects or policies for the municipality, but had projects that Talib executed when he came to office like the Administrative Building and a market that was initiated before his tenure.

Looking from outside, he said “I have better solutions to the current challenges to suit the needs of the municipality going forward, programs and policies that will decentralize and enhance growth for the common good.

“Create jobs and skills training programs to suit the needs of the municipality and by extension, the country at large. Reward excellence and nurture talents.”

However, he advised electorates to cautiously take their time and vote for the right candidate who will deliver to expectations of the job, not based on friendship, relation, or being partisan.

He, therefore, expressed optimism about winning the elections but was quick to say in case he loses, he will work hand in hand with anyone that wins the elections hence he doesn’t see them as enemies but opponents and national development is a collective responsibility.
